Anna Signeul joined the Scottish Football Association in March 2005. Since replacing Vera Pauw, whose four year reign as Scotland Women's National Coach saw the team gain considerable respect across Europe, Anna has guided Scotland to their highest ever UEFA and FIFA rankings. Notable achievements include taking Scotland to the play-offs for the UEFA Women's Euro for the first time in 2008.
Anna built an impressive coaching and playing CV in her native Sweden. Her playing career spanned over 20 years, including 240 matches in Damallsvenskan, Sweden’s Premier Division.
She played for and coached teams such as IK Brage, Stomsbro IF and Tyreso FF and became head coach of the Swedish Youth Programme in 1996, winning the coveted UEFA Women's Under-18 Championship in 1999.
