Matt came through the ranks at Rochdale, and went on to make almost 200 appearances for his home-town club.
He signed for then-Championship side Norwich City in 2007, but was unable to break into the first team, and moved to Blackpool in 2008. He established himself as first-choice goalkeeper during 2010, and helped The Seasiders win promotion to the English Premier League at the end of season 2009/10.
Eligible through his Perth-born grandmother, Matt received his first call-up to the Scotland squad for the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying double-header against Lithuania and Liechtenstein in September 2010.
He won his first cap in a 3-1 friendly win over Australia at Easter Road in August 2012, replacing the injured Allan McGregor.
His first start came three months later in a 2-1 friendly win over Luxembourg at the Stade Josy Barthel
