Kim is regarded by many as one of the brightest young stars in women's football and has won plaudits for her skillful and tireless midfield shifts for both club and country.
The talented Aberdeen-born midfielder began her career at Buchan Girls before moving to SWPL side Hibernian.
A former women’s under-19 captain, she won her first senior cap aged 16 in a 2007 friendly against Japan. The following year she played in the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship Finals in France. Kim won her 50th cap, and scored the opening goal, in a 2-0 Cyprus Women's Cup win over England in March 2011.
In 2010 Kim scored 47 goals in 36 appearances for Arsenal and was named Players' Player of the Year at the FA Women's Football Awards. She scored the opener as Arsenal defeated Bristol Academy to lift the 2011 FA Women’s Cup.
In April 2013, she became the first ever recipient of the Professional Footballers' Association Women's Player of the Year Award.
