Biography

William Taylor was born in Edinburgh about 1870. He died on 23 July, 1949.
Known as ’Cocky’, Taylor was an outside right who could also move inside to score numerous goals. He started with the famous Edinburgh nursery side, Dalry Primrose, and joined Heart of Midlothian in 1885. He stayed with the club for 15 years, apart from six months at Blackburn Rovers in the first half of 1893, and won honours including the Scottish Cup in 1891 and the Scottish League in 1897.
