Biography

John Blair was born in Glasgow around 1910 and died around 1975.
A powerful and dominant centre half, Blair was an essential component of the successful Motherwell side of the 1930s, and after he joined them in 1931 from juniors Yoker Athletic, he did not play for any other team. He was too late to appear in Motherwell’s famous league winning eleven, but did play in the Scottish Cup finals of 1933 and 1939.
