| Scotland showed what could have been achieved had they accepted the invitation to take part in the 1950 World Cup by earning an excellent draw in Lisbon. Although Portugal took the lead in 9 mintues through Travacos Willie Bauld equalised in 20 minutes and Allan Brown gave Scotland the lead three minutes later. Portugal were back on level terms just before the half hour through Albano and there was no further scoring. |
