Biography
James Paterson Campbell was born in Kilmarnock on 29 March, 1869. He died on 20 April, 1938. A dashing centre forward, Campbell was known as 'Bummer' for his unceasing activity on the football field. Signed for Kilmarnock from junior football and remained with the club throughout his playing career. Played in the Scottish Cup final team of 1898 and was given a benefit match the following year. He was Kilmarnock's first international player.
