Biography
John Campbell Baird was born in Alexandria (Dunbartonshire) on 27 July, 1856. He died of pneumonia on 4 March, 1902.
A founder member of the great Vale of Leven club, Baird featured in all three of their cup winning teams in 1877, 1878 and 1879 and never played for any other club. A potent forward he could cross as well as he could shoot and scored in two of his three internationals - all of which were won by Scotland.
