Biography
James Kelly was born in Renton Dunbartonshire on 15 October 1865. Died 20 February 1932. A giant of his era he was centre half of the Renton team which were declared Champions of the World in 1888 but shortly afterwards was headhunted by Celtic as a founding player and member. He had joined Renton in 1883 and in five successful years he also won the Scottish Cup in 1885 and 1888 with a losing final in 1886. Over at Celtic he was in the team which won the Scottish League three times in 1893 1894
