Biography
Neil Gibson was born in Larkhall (Lanarkshire) on 23 February 1873. A superb wing half often described as the greatest footballer of his generation, Gibson helped Rangers to numerous honours. He joined up at Ibrox in 1894 from local junior team Royal Albert, and over the next decade he won four consecutive league championships from 1899 to 1902 as well as three Scottish Cups in 1897, 1898 and 1903. He moved to Partick Thistle in 1904 and played for them for at least another five years.
