James Young

James Young was born in Kilmarnock on 10 January 1882. Died on 4 September 1922. 'Sunny Jim' was an immensely influential player in the great Celtic team of the early years of the century one of the club's finest ever players and it is surprising that he only made one appearance for his country. He turned out for various clubs as a young man including Kilmarnock Stewarton Shawbank Barr and Bristol Rovers before joining Celtic on a free transfer in 1903.
