Biography
James Allan was born in Monk Castle (Ayrshire) probably in the 1860s, date not known.
He joined Queen's Park from Kilwinning in 1886 and quickly came to prominence, winning his two caps at the end of his first season. He scored in both games including a late winner against England but it was not enough to impress the selectors. He was also useful off the field as club treasurer and then secretary from 1890-94. Away from football he was president of the Scottish Amateur Athletic Association.
