Biography
Robert Gillespie was born in Kilsyth (Stirlingshire) on 28 April, 1901. He died on 11 August, 1960. He came to Queen's Park as a teenager and remained with the club for the rest of his life as player, secretary and president. A centre half, he liked to venture forward and was also a potent forward at times. In addition to his senior caps, he also won 11 amateur caps for Scotland. He was in the side which won the Second Division championship in 1922/23.
