Thomas Brandon

Thomas Brandon was born in Kilbirnie (Ayrshire) on 26 February, 1869.
After learning the game with clubs in the Paisley area - Johnstone, Port Glasgow Athletic, Renfrew Athletic and St Mirren - Brandon moved south with Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 1889 to turn professional. It was a successful move, as he won the FA Cup in 1891 and was also selected by the Football League representative team. He had short spells with Sheffield Wednesday and Nelson before returning to Blackburn in 1894.
