Biography
George Clark Phillips Brown was born in Glasgow on 7 January, 1907. George Brown was one of the mainstays of the great Rangers team of the 1930s, playing at left half. He joined Rangers in September 1929 and stayed with them until his retirement in March 1942. His prestige was reinforced by his appointment as a club director the following season. He won seven Scottish League championships with Rangers, in 1930, 1931, 1933, 1934, 1935, 1937 and 1939.
