Scotland will return to Sweden this summer, scene of the memorable European finals in 1992, as Craig Levein aims to continue the national team’s rejuvenation.
The Scottish FA can confirm that after positive negotiations, the team will play in Sweden on Wednesday, 11th August. Venue and kick-off time still to be confirmed.
Scotland supporters were admired for their passionate support and excellent behaviour at the European Championships 18 years ago, culminating in the fans receiving UEFA’s Fair Play award.
The game gives Scotland a chance to build on the 1-0 victory against Czech Republic at Hampden Park on Wednesday.
Craig Levein commented: “I am looking forward to taking the squad to Sweden in August and given the tremendous response to the win against the Czech Republic, I can’t wait for the next game to come along.
This will be a good test for the players away from home and a positive result will give us the best possible preparation for the Euro 2012 qualification campaign.”
