Stage set for preliminary round draws

Monday, 10 July 2017

The draws for Preliminary Rounds One and Two of the 2017/18 William Hill Scottish Cup will take place at Hampden Park this morning.

Drawn by Scotland Women’s National Team coach, Anna Signeul and captain, Gemma Fay, the draws will decide the teams that enter the William Hill Scottish Cup proper at Round One.

All licensed clubs eligible to participate in the Preliminary Round will be entered into the first part of the draw.  As a consequence, 11 balls – each corresponding with a team – will be placed in a pot, with nine teams being drawn as byes into Preliminary Round Two. Two teams will then be drawn to participate in the Preliminary Round One draw. Participating clubs are listed below in alphabetical order:

1.    Banks O’Dee
2.    Burntisland Shipyard Amateur
3.    Coldstream
4.    Girvan
5.    Glasgow University
6.    Golspie Sutherland
7.    Linlithgow Rose
8.    Newton Stewart
9.    Preston Athletic
10.    St Cuthbert Wanderers
11.    Threave Rovers

The two teams not drawn as byes will be drawn in three fixtures alongside the following teams:

•    Colville Park
•    Glenafton Athletic
•    Kelty Hearts
•    Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale

The Preliminary Round One ties will be played on Saturday 12 August 2017.

The winners of the Preliminary Round One ties will advance to Preliminary Round Two along with the teams who received a bye.

These teams will each be assigned a ball number and will be placed in a pot and drawn in pairs to produce six ties.

The Preliminary Round Two ties will be played on Saturday 2 September 2017.

The draw will be covered live on the Scottish Cup Twitter account, @ScottishCup, and will be available to watch shortly afterwards.
