BLOG: USA Soccer Guy previews Scotland v USA

Wednesday, 13 November 2013

Extending our hand across the water, the Scottish FA has reached-out to the United States' least intrepid but most inimitable soccer scribe for his unique take on Friday's big match. Introducing (and apologising in advance for) the self-proclaimed Twitter soccer expert USA Soccer Guy...

In recent years, the British country of Scotland, Britain has experienced big time soccer sadness. Apart from doing some pretty good soccer from time to time, the country has not made it to a World Soccer Cup in approximately 14 years and 5 months.

Added to that, in recent times EPL Scotland fans have also missed out on the legendary 'Old Friends' derby soccer matches between Glasgow Raiders and Boston Celtic's Glasgow based soccer franchise.

But this Friday, the pain of all that stuff can be forgotten as the soccering good times return for 90 minutes.  One of the World's most winningest soccer countries, the USA, rock up at the Ball Park to unleash soccer joy on the Scotch capital.

What the Scotch are lacking in recent World Soccer Cup campaigns, they sure do make up for in aquatic monsters. With Nessie still swimming around that real deep lake, Scotland will know after looking at their opponent's roster that they gotta put in a monster of a performance if they're gonna go stop the USA taking all three victory points.

Having been the highest profile departure from Totten ham Whitespurs of London, England last summer, Clint Dempsey of the Seattle Sounders will almost definitely play his part.  Michael Bradley, the main reason Roma are top of Serious A in Italy right now, will also be doing some great kicks.  You also can't forget Jozy Altidore, fresh from inspiring Sunderland Franchise Club to a victory over the Man City Skyblues in the English EPL league at the weekend.

As for Scotland Soccer Club, Altidore's deputy at franchise level, Steven Fletcher, is gonna be the guy that the hosts will look to kick the soccer ball in to the soccer goal interior.  There's also another call out to Scotch Brown who has done some soccer in the Euro Soccer Cup for the Glasgow Celtics Franchise.

Coach Golden Strachan will have pretty much accepted now that his guys will probably go lose this soccer match.  They are facing off against one of the super powers of world soccer right now and a hot favourite to go win that World Soccer Cup.  But this soccer match is an important moment in the history of the host nation's soccer history - it's an opportunity to test themselves against the elite of the sport.

As the unleashment whistle on this great soccer match gets real close, let's hope that no matter how bad you guys get beat, your love for the most awesome sport in the world continues to grow.
We may go beat your asses at soccer, but we'll never take your soccer freedom.

Tickets for Friday's match between Scotland and USA are available from just £12 for adults and £5 for kids. Click here to get your tickets.
