Scotland finished third in Cyprus Women's Cup Group A after a 2-1 win over Italy in Larnaca this afternoon.
Anna Signeul's side finished the group stage on a high, after a thrilling 4-4 draw against England on Friday and a narrow 1-0 defeat to New Zealand in the opening match.
Goals in each half from Jane Ross and Rhonda Jones completed a double victory over Italy, after Scotland women's under-19s recorded a 7-3 win in La Manga yesterday.
Scotland looked comfortable throughout the first half, and Ross opened the scoring in the 17th minute, after good link-up play with Kim Little and Jo Love.
Defender Jones doubled the lead in the second half when she headed in from a Little free-kick.
Sara Gama pulled one back for Italy with 15 minutes remaining, but Scotland remained in front to seal victory over the side ranked 12 places above them at 11 in the world.
Scotland will now face The Netherlands in the 5th/6th place play-off on Wednesday.
The last time the two sides met at the 2012 Cyprus Women's Cup, Scotland came from behind to win 2-1 - their first ever victory over The Netherlands.
