Congratulations to Scotland and Arsenal striker Julie Fleeting on the news that she is pregnant with her second child.
Scotland’s record goal scorer, who is already mum to two-year-old Ella, will welcome her second child later this year, and will miss the remainder of Scotland’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2013 qualifying campaign.
In April 2010, following her first pregnancy, Julie returned to the international scene is some style. In just her second Scotland appearance for more than 13 months, she netted four times in an 8-1 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying win over Bulgaria at The Falkirk Stadium.
National coach Anna Signeul said: “Everyone at the Scottish FA joins me in congratulating Julie. Her daughter Ella has become a well-known face around the squad over the past two years and we look forward to meeting the new addition to the family.
“Julie is a fantastic player, role model, and character around the dressing room, so she will be missed. But with some talented young players establishing themselves in the squad, there is genuine excitement around the remainder of our Euro qualifying campaign.”
