The main role of a parent in relation to your child's team or club is to:
• promote positive behaviour on the touchlines
• Get to know the parents and other people involved with the club/organisation
• Be a role model and take the lead– demonstrate to others how to honour our game
We have plenty of advice and tools on how to best support your child within the club environment here.
Every grassroots football club relies on committed volunteers to help run the team or club and make things happen. Think about what role, not matter how small, that you could take on to best support the club and give a bit back to the organisation who is providing a football home for your child.
Clubs need someone to fulfil roles in everything from coaching the team to doing the books, washing the kit to driving the minibus, running the website to maintaining the social media platforms and fundraising. What could you do to help?
Why not think about the skills you possess from your own career. If you work in finance or accounting why not vounteer to take on the books, or if you work in PR or marketing you could offer help and advice to better promote the club and attract funding. Anything you could do to help will make your club stronger and better.
