Mini-Kickers

Fun Fours

Playing football at an early age can instill positive habits that last a lifetime.

Mini Kickers gives children aged three to five the chance to reap the rewards of playing the game.

Mini Kickers programmes are run by the Scottish FA, in partnership with local authorities, in sports centres around the country.

Teamwork, decision making, confidence and communication are just some of the skills taught within the Mini Kickers curriculum.

Scottish FA coaches provide fun classes which aim to help children to develop a positive, motivated and confident mind-set.

Classes include the ‘Donkey’s Tail’ where children chase their classmate around, acting as a warm-up.

Music in sessions acts a motivator for children and creates a good atmosphere

Main activities include dribbling, individual skills, passing and shooting.

We also like to use a balloon to develop interaction – rolling, catching and bouncing are just some of the methods used.
