Round 1 - Saturday, 26th September, 2009

Round 2 - Saturday, 24th October, 2009

Round 3 - Saturday, 28th November, 2009

Round 4 - Saturday, 9th January, 2010

Round 5 - Saturday, 6th February, 2010

Round 6 - Saturday, 13th March, 2010

Semi-Finals - Saturday, 10th & Sunday, 11th April, 2010

Final - Saturday, 15th May, 2010

All 12 Scottish Premier League clubs automatically enter the tournament, as do all 30 Scottish Football League clubs.

A number of non-league clubs participated by virtue of having qualified through one of two regionalised qualifying cups; however since 2007–08 it is now by having won the Scottish Junior Cup or one of the three regionalised Junior leagues.

The final is played at  Hampden Park, the home of Scottish football.
