Coaching Pathway

Main (Youth/Adult) Pathway

Course Aim

This six-hour course is open to all interested parties aged 16 and over, experienced or otherwise, who work with youths/adults 13+. In addition to delivering new content, the course will assist coaches to develop their coaching technique, focus on skill development and will explore the best age specific activities for developing young players.

Target Candidate

Those coaches actively working, or interested in working, in the youth/Adult game.

Admission Criteria/ Prerequisites

In order to be accepted onto the Scottish FA Development Activities (Level 1.1) course, candidates must have as a minimum:

• Scottish FA ‘Children’s Wellbeing in Scottish Football’ award completed within the past three years.

Course Duration

One day/six hours

Assessment

The course is non-assessable and is attendance based only. However, in order to achieve the award, 100% attendance is mandatory during course hours.

Payment

Payment must be made online, at the time of booking. 

Cost Inclusive

Access to the Scottish FA Live Learning Management System (LMS), including all course notes and materials; tuition fees.

Additional Information

During practical components of the course, all course candidates will be expected to participate in football-related activity for the full duration of the course.

The Scottish FA Live LMS will be utilised for the dissemination of all course materials and information; candidates are expected to check the LMS regularly for updates and notifications.

Course Completion

On successful completion of the Scottish FA ‘Development Activities’ (Level 1.1) course, candidates will receive the Scottish FA Level 1.1 Award.

Award Validity

The Scottish FA ‘Development Activities’ (Level 1.1) Award must be kept valid by completing the Scottish FA ‘Coaching Footballers 13+’ (Level 1.2) Award within three years.
