Material burns bright at national marketing star awards
Material_UK has been recognised with a gold award in Sponsorship alongside the cream of Scotland's marketing industry at the Marketing Society Scotland's Star Awards 2012.
Creative talent from the public and private sector on both client and agency sides were out in force for the sell-out event at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh hosted by broadcaster Kaye Adams.
The Star Awards, sponsored by Cello and now in their eighth year, are aimed at celebrating the most dynamic marketing campaigns in Scotland. Material scooped an impressive Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Sponsorship category. The winning entry, submitted on behalf of Lloyds TSB Scotland, brought to life the Scottish Bank's integrated campaign in support of schools' football in Scotland.
Sera Miller, CEO of the Material_Group was shortlisted in the Agency Star of the Year category and the agency itself was a finalist in the Star Agency of the Year category. Sera Miller commented: "We are always proud to even be nominated but to come away from the night with the Gold, Silver and Bronze in a single category is a phenomenal achievement that demonstrates the breadth and depth of the work we have created for our clients. It also exemplifies the diversity of the work we can deliver here at Material; from the arts through to football and youth sport, putting creative consumer experiences at the heart of what we do for the brands we represent. However, without the clients behind these brands being brave enough to want to do things differently we wouldn’t be in a position to be rewarded like this for our work and it’s great to come together on nights like the Star Awards to celebrate such fantastic work from across Scotland."
Peter Sandstrom, Chair of the Marketing Society Scotland Star Awards said: "Every year the Star Awards recognise and celebrate the very best of Scotland's world-class marketing community. In 2012, the winners were those who burned the brightest and showcased the industry's focus on insight, excellence and innovation. All our winners and their exceptional campaigns reflect the central role marketing plays within business and the community in Scotland."
