Perth Academy triumph in tight game
The East Regional Finals took place on Thursday 27th May at Warout Stadium, Glenrothes.
The U15 final was between Montrose Academy and Perth Academy.
Perth Academy got off to a great start and took the lead in the 8th minute when Dale Robertson smacked a right-foot volley from 20 yards which beat the Montrose keeper all ends up.
Montrose fought back well and had several chances to test the Perth keeper but there were no more goals in a very even first half.
Even a heavy shower did not spoil the entertainment between two well-matched teams.

In the opening part of the second half chances were few and far between but both sides found their form again and started to test the keeper. Nearly midway through the half Montrose had a good move saved by the keeper but a minute later Lewis Dunn beat three players and slotted the ball past the keeper for the equaliser.
Ten minutes from time the Perth keeper came out of his box and brought down the onrushing striker, though Perth defenders had hurried back to cover. From the free kick Montrose shot over the bar.
The game was picking up pace towards the end - first Perth brought out an excellent save from the Montrose keeper, then Montrose shot just past.
With a minute to go Montrose had a header at the far post but the keeper held on to it. With penalties looming, up popped Dale Robertson to head in a dramatic last-minute winner for Perth Academy.
Montrose were still able to create a couple of chances to equalise in time added on but Perth held on to win.
