FUN FOURS RULES

 

 

Amended

The rules of Association Football as determined by FIFA and the International F.A. Board will apply to four-a-side games, except in thefollowing cases :

LAW 1 THE FIELD OF PLAY

a) The field of play shall be rectangular and shall measure a maximum of 35m. x 25m.
b) There shall be two goals of maximum size 5m. x 2m. each, but smaller may be used.

LAW 2 THE BALL

a) The match ball shall be size 4.

LAW 3 THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS

a) The maximum number of players in a team shall be 6, of whom 4 can be on the field of play at any given time. (4 outfield players and no goalkeeper)
b) Players can be substituted at any point in the game.
c) Players who have been substituted can be reintroduced to the game at a later stage. (rolling substitutes)
d) In the finals event each team will consist of 7 players of whom 3 will be substitutes.

LAW 4 DURATION OF THE GAME

a) The game shall last for 10 minutes and there shall be no halftime break.

LAW 5 OFFSIDE

a) There will be no offside in play.

LAW 6 INFRINGEMENTS AND FOUL PLAY

a) All free kicks awarded for infringements or foul play shall be direct.
b) Opposition players must be at least 6 metres from the ball at all free kicks and kick-ins.

LAW 7 STARTING AND RESTARTING THE GAME

a) The game shall be started with a centre ball.
b) The game shall be restarted with a centre ball after a goal is scored.
c) The game shall be restarted with a kick-in if the ball goes out of play.
d) A goal cannot be scored straight from a kick-in.


NB

WINNERS

If any event requires progression to a further stage, winners will be decided by the following process :


1) The team scoring the greatest number of goals.    

NB - If the goal difference in any game reaches NINE, the game should stop.

If still equal : 2) The result between the equal teams.     

If still equal : 3) A sudden death shoot-out from a mark 7 metres from the goal.

A player may stand between the goalposts for the shoot-out but may not use his / her hands to stop the ball.   Handling the ball in this instance will result in the award of a goal. 


EQUIPMENT

a) All players must wear shin pads.
b) Metal studs are suitable for grass fields only.
c) Glasses may be worn provided they have safety frames and lenses.
