Best Coach in Youth Football -

Robert Bartlett

 

Robert Bartlett is the founder, chairman and head coach at Cuminestown Youth Active Football Club.


Cuminestown is a small village in the heart ofAberdeenshirewith a population of around 500 and just one primaryschool.


Robert was asked by local parents who knew he was a keencoach if he would show their children how to play football.
From one afternoon taking a couple of local children for a‘kick about’ in the park, Robert has now created and developed anexcellent club that currently looks after 73 children.

 

 

  

Best Volunteer in Youth Football -

Raymond Kelly


This season Raymond Kelly celebrated his twenty-fifth yearas secretary of the Aberdeen Juvenile FA. He has overseen the growth ofthe FA who now boast over 240 teams ranging from under-9s to under-19s.


Raymond is currently in his final year of a three-year stintas president of the Scottish Youth Football Association and is also anactive member of the Scottish FA Regional committee.

Best Youth Football Club of the Year -

Cowie United


Cowie United started in 2004 when a group of local parentsgot together to combat a lack of football opportunities for childrenwithin their community.


Cowie United aim to provide an opportunity for allchildren, regardless of talent or ability, to participate in leaguefootball. Since 2004 the club has grown from 15 players to over 140.

The club also focus on the importance of exercise,healthy eating,  team work and respect for others. They aim to provideyoung people with an opportunity to take part in an enjoyable activitywhich diverts them from antisocial behaviours which could impactnegatively on the rest of the community.

Best Volunteer in Schools Football - Robert Wilson


It's safe to say that Bob is Edinburgh schools football.


For over 30 years, the Forrester High School maths teacherhas been the Edinburgh schools fixtures secretary and has run numerousteams at his own school. He is also heavily involved in the Edinburghselect side.


Despite now being in his 60s, the registered referee still takes up the whistle to ensure that games go ahead.

Best Volunteer in Disability Football - Ian Husband


For over thirty years Ian Husband has been a player, coach,manager, fund-raiser and administrator within Scottish deaf football,and in particular Edinburgh Deaf Football Club.


For many years he was both secretary and chairman of theScottish Deaf Football League and recently Ian has turned his hand tothe Scottish Deaf International team.


Ian, who was capped for Scotland during his earlyplaying career, has fought the corner of the Scottish representation atmeetings and assemblies across Europe. With his help, the Scottish DeafFutsal team made their debut at the European Deaf Championshipsin November 2010.

McDonald's Community Champion Award - Stuart Wild

Stuart’s enthusiasm and dedication to his teams at Renfrew Vics is fantastic.


While helping the club to achieve the Scottish FA QualityMark award, he still finds tome to arrange an annual festival for 400boys and girls. He also raises over £1000 every year which goes towardslocal charities.

Best Volunteer in Adult Football -

David Buchanan


Davy is responsible for the day to day running of the seniorOban Saints teams. He is also a member of the Football DevelopmentCommittee in Oban.


He is always there to watch whichever of the ten Oban Saintsteams are playing and is always available to offer advice to theircoaches.


If it wasn’t for Davy's good work, football in Oban wouldn'tbe as well organised or enjoyable for many adults and children.

Best Volunteer in Women's/Girls'

Football- Laura Montgomery


For over a decade Laura has relentlessly promoted women’sfootball in general in Scotland, as well as being instrumental inleadingGlasgow City FC into the respected echelons of European football.


Although her playing career is over, Laura will continue todevote time and energy to further enhancing the profile of GCFC, as wellas ensuring that women’s club football in Scotland becomes even moresuccessful.

Best Grassroots Community Club -

Glenrothes Strollers


Eighteen months ago, Glenrothes Strollers were a disparategroup of teams who shared the club name but all operated independently.


In January 2009, with support from the Scottish FA EastRegion and Fife Council, all 15 teams signed up to a shared vision forthe future and agreed on a five year development plan.


The whole club moved to Over Stenton Park and have nowdeveloped an open parkland into a brand new football facility, with ninefootball pitches, their own car park and eight changing rooms inrefurbished portacabins. All of this work has been completed by theirown volunteers.

Merit Award for Services to Football -

John Beaton


John has been instrumental in setting up and runningfootball in the Inverness area for the past 40 years. He has seen manyof the kids he coached go on to play in the senior leagues, includingGrant Munro at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Kevin McDonald, whoplayed for Liverpool and Rangers.


However it's not just the players that have gone on to elitelevel that John deserves great credit for, but the many hundredsofyoungsters who gained from regular coaching and games and were steeredonto a path of exercise, discipline and good habits for life.
