Biography
David Hay was born on 29 January 1948 in Paisley. He signed for Celtic in 1966 and made his league debut on 6 March 1968 against Aberdeen. He went on to make 230 appearances for Celtic scoring 12 goals. He won five League Championships, three Scottish Cups and one League Cup. After playing for Scotland in the 1974 World Cup in West Germany, he was transferred to Chelsea but in 1979 a serious knee injury forced him to retire from the game as a player.
