Announced by FIFA earlier this week, it has been confirmed that Cockburn will be one of the 18-strong assistant referee delegation from UEFA nations, and will travel to France for her first senior FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The announcement caps off a landmark year for Cockburn, who was recently involved at the FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup in Uruguay.
The Scottish FA official was one of the assistant referees for the third-place playoff between Canada and New Zealand, with German referee Riem Hussein taking charge of the fixture.
