NORTHERN IRELAND MANAGER – Michael O’Neill CAPTAIN – Steven Davis (Southampton)
Northern Ireland sit second in UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifying Group F after a campaign that has already seen the country record famous away victories over Hungary and Greece. Kenny Miller, James McArthur and Kris Commons netted for Scotland in a 3-0 victory during their last meeting in 2011.
INTERESTING FACT – Of the 25-man N. Ireland squad chosen to play against Romania in November five were playing in the Scottish Premiership and 11 had played in Scotland during their careers. Manager Michael O’Neill also played in Scotland and managed Brechin City until 2008. GIBRALTAR MANAGER – Allen Bula CAPTAIN – Roy Chipolina (Lincoln Red Imps)
Gibraltar will play Scotland for the first ever time after gaining full UEFA membership in 2013. They’ve lost all of their Group D games so far but did draw with Estonia in Tallinn and also beat Malta in June 2014. Of the squad that travelled to Germany in November, two players played professionally and 11 came from Gibraltar Premier Division champions Lincoln Red Imps. With a population of just 30,000 they are the smallest member of UEFA.
INTERESTING FACT – Gibraltar have played both the Shetland and Orkney Islands in a semi-professional capacity in the past.
