FIFA World Cup 2026 Scotland v Morocco Friday, 19 June, 2026 – 11pm kick off (UK time) Boston Stadium, Foxborough
After Saturday’s crucial victory over Haiti, Scotland return to the Boston Stadium on Friday evening to face Morocco.
Last weekend’s fixture marked Scotland’s first outing at a FIFA World Cup in 28 years and we recorded a first victory since 1990 with a 1-0 win through a first half strike from John McGinn.
Next up is Morocco, who were the surprise package of the last World Cup, charging all the way to the Semi-Finals where they were eventually defeated by France.
Morocco were also in action on Saturday as they drew 1-1 with Brazil in the other Group C match.
Scotland’s supporters have been in party mode since arriving stateside, packing out the Boston Stadium for the opener and a large number of supporters have remained in the city throughout the week, making headlines on Sunday evening with a fan takeover of the iconic Fenway Park during the MLB match between the Boston Red Sox and the Texas Rangers.
The squad, meanwhile, returned to the team basecamp in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sunday evening to prepare for the clash with a full week’s training at the Atrium Health Performance Park.
Team News
Captain Andy Robertson edged closer to a century of Scotland caps as he made his 95th appearance against the Haitians, while striker Che Adams is now only two caps away from his half century in the dark blue of Scotland.
Previous Meetings
Scotland’s last meeting with Friday’s opponents was one to forget as we lost 3-0 in Saint Etienne in our last World Cup match prior to the Haiti win.
Pre-match Thoughts
Scotland’s Ryan Christie, who could make his 70th Scotland appearance on Friday, addressed the media at Scotland’s base camp in Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon. He said: "“It was an incredible night and we were all buzzing with the result.
“We put a lot of pressure on ourselves, and knew how much that game meant to us in terms of moving forward in the competition.
“We’ve done that and given ourselves that chance. Now we need to go and grasp it, and the first chance to do that is against Morocco.
“We’re desperate to get out of the group. We’ve come up against teams as good as Morocco in in recent years and gone toe to toe with them.
“So that’s where we need to draw some confidence from. We’re not naive enough to think we’re going to go and dominate possession and then limit them to zero chances.
“We need to keep those numbers as low as possible and do our bit when do get the chance to hurt them.
“We’re trying not to get too ahead of ourselves. But at the same time, you’ve got to draw confidence from that and ride the wave a little bit.
“And I don’t think there’s a better time to be going into this game with the feeling among the boys and in the camp. We are raring to go.”
How to Watch
Scotland’s second match will be live on ITV. For those remaining in Scotland, there are a number of different fan zones showing the game, including the OVO Hydro which will once again be screening the match as part of an evening of celebration.
