Scottish football has already taken the lead on the subject of head trauma in sport and in 2020 the Scottish FA recommended there should be no heading practice in children’s football (primary school age children).

The Professional and Non-Professional Game Boards of the Scottish FA will review the latest FIELD study findings and further consideration will be given to any additional mitigations to be implemented as part of the association’s commitment to ensuring the national game is a safe and enjoyable environment for all players.
