
Alan Roderick Rough was born in Glasgow on 25 November 1951. ‘Roughie’ is the record appearance holder for Partick Thistle, having played 624 times for the Jags – including a League Cup win in 1972. He moved to Hibs in 1982, playing 175 times for the capital side.
Alan played 53 times for Scotland, including at the 1978 and 1982 World Cups. He also won the Home Nations tournament in 1976 and 1977, as well as the Rous Cup in 1985.
