
Bobby Collins was born in Glasgow on 16 February 1931. The midfielder began his career with Celtic, scoring 81 times in 220 appearances for the Hoops, winning both the Scottish Cup and League Cup. Collins would go onto have spells in England with Everton and Leeds United, where he was named FWA Footballer of the Year in 1964-65.
Collins made his debut for Scotland in October 1950, and a 3-1 victory over Wales. He represented his country on 31 occasions, socring 10 goals – including a strike against Paraguay at the 1958 World Cup and a double against Poland in a 2-1 victory.
Bobby passed away in January 2014, aged 82.
