The striker signed for Doncaster Rovers Belles in December 2016 and was a key figure in the side that won the WSL 2 during the 2017/18 season.
Hanson signed for the newly formed Manchester United women’s side in July 2018, scoring a brace on her league debut during a 12-0 victory over Aston Villa.
After helping United to the league title and promotion to the WSL in her debut season, she was a regular in the starting eleven in the top flight and won the WSL Player of the Month award in October 2019 after a string of impressive performances.
The striker moved on a season-long loan to Aston Villa in September 2022, a deal which was made permanent in the summer of 2023.
Hanson was named Aston Villa’s Players’ Player of the Season for the 2023/24 season as Villa finished seventh in the WSL.
At international level, the striker scored eight times in 14 appearances for Scotland’s Under-19 side before receiving her first call up to the senior side in November 2019.
She made her national team debut on the 8th November 2019, playing the full ninety minutes and being named player of the match during a 5-0 victory over Albania.
Hanson netted her first international goal in February 2021 as Scotland defeated Cyprus 10-0 during a EURO 2022 qualifying match in Larnaca.
The striker reached the milestone of 40 caps for her country in April 2025 during a UEFA Nations League match against Germany in Wolfsburg.
