
He became a regular starter during the 2013/14 season, scoring his first senior goal on New Year’s Day in 2014.
After over 70 appearances for Dundee United, he signed for fellow Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian in February 2016.
Following relegation to the Scottish Championship, Souttar was part of the Hearts side the that won promotion back to the Premiership in 2021 and was named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year during their first season back in the top flight.
He moved to Rangers in the summer of 2022, winning his first major honour with the club in 2023/24 as part of the League Cup winning side.
At international level, Souttar made his full Scotland debut during a friendly match against Belgium at Hampden Park in September 2018.
Following a series of long-term injuries, he scored his first international goal on his return to the national team for the first time in over three years during a World Cup qualifier against Denmark in November 2021.
After missing out on a place at EURO 2024, the defender played in five of Scotland’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers as Steve Clarke’s side qualified for the tournament for the first time since 1998.
