Kelly returned to Scotland on loan with Motherwell in 2021, before making the move permanent that summer.
After three years at Fir Park, he returned to Rangers in 2024.
Having represented his country at various age levels, Kelly was called up to the Scotland senior squad for the first time in 2019 for EURO 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and San Marino.
He made his full international debut during a friendly against France in Lille in October 2023 and was named in the 26-man squad which travelled to EURO 2024 in Germany.
Kelly won his second international cap during a friendly match against Cote d’Ivoire in March 2026.
