As the nation celebrate Father’s Day, watch an extended interview with John and Jen Beattie.

Scotland rugby legend, John Beattie played for both his country as well as the British and Irish Lions, now working as a radio presenter for BBC Scotland.

Father of Scotland rugby internationalist Johnnie Beattie, he sat down with his daughter, Scotland Women’s National Team centre back Jen Beattie, and they spoke about her childhood and the pressures of following in the footsteps of her father by donning the Scotland jersey.

Jen even expressed her desire to continue to shadow her Father’s career journey by embarking on her own venture into the world of media, following playing football.

The current Manchester City defender spoke to her Dad at Glasgow Academy Rugby Club, a place close to both of their hearts and the scene of where Jen used to work hard in the off season to prepare her for the rigours of playing professional football.

Jen and the Scotland Women’s National Team are in the midst of their quest for World Cup Qualification and take on Switzerland in a vital match in Paisley on Thursday, 30 August, kick-off 7.35pm.
