Scottish FA referee Andrew Dallas has been appointed to referee this Sunday’s Betfred Cup final between Celtic and Aberdeen at Hampden Park.

It will be a first major cup final appointment for the 35-year-old, who took charge of the UEFA Nations League tie between Austria and Bosnia-Herzegovina earlier this year.

Sunday’s encounter will be the second fixture for both sides this season in which Dallas has been the man in the middle, having seen him take charge of Aberdeen’s 1-1 draw with Hibernian in August before refereeing a goalless draw between Celtic and St Mirren in September.

In a season in which he has also refereed UEFA Champions League and Europa League qualifying round matches, the appointment marks another landmark in Dallas’ refereeing career to date.

Graeme Stewart and Frank Connor have been appointed as the assistant referees for the match, with Nick Walsh taking on the role of fourth official.
