Queen’s Park v Heart of Midlothian
Scottish FA Youth Cup Final
Tuesday, 28 April 2026
Barclays Hampden, Glasgow
Queen’s Park and Heart of Midlothian meet at Barclays Hampden on Tuesday evening, with the wee Jambos looking to lift the trophy for the 4th time, last winning it in the year 2000, and Queen’s Park looking to lift the trophy on their 1st appearance in the final.
The match takes place on Tuesday, 28 April at Barclays Hampden, with a 7:20pm kick off, live on BBC Scotland.
Cup Form
Making their first ever appearance in the Youth Cup final in their history, Queen’s Park have overcome Queen of the South (2-0), Rangers (2-2, 4-1 on Penalties), Musselburgh Athletic (7-0) and Aberdeen (2-0) on their way to Hampden.
Despite missing suspended captain Cole Burke in the Semi-Finals, Queen’s Park secured their place in the final with goals from Cole Goldie and Daniel Edzie.
Remarkably having only conceded twice in the competition, Queen’s Park’s young charges will be looking to continue this in the final.

Looking to lift the Youth Cup for the first time since the year 2000, David McNeil’s Hearts side booked their spot in the final by eliminating holders Kilmarnock 2-0 in the Semi-Final with goals from Tommy North and Connor Dow.
Defeating local rivals Hibernian 3-0 in the Quarter-Finals, Bonnyrigg Rose 3-0 and a thumping 6-0 defeat of Ross County, including a hat-trick from Callen Robb.
The wee Jambos have lifted the trophy 3 times (1993, 1998 & 2000) and were most recently in the final in 2022, going down 2-1 to Rangers.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Queen Park’s Cole Burke: " The gaffer Charley sets us up really well. He gets us set up in a good shape, mostly we've been playing as a 5 at the back with wing backs, so we've been defensively strong, but also the wing backs pushing up higher and getting forward, that's where we've been getting goals from.”
“It's football, you want to score goals, but the defence has been really good. Only conceding two goals in the tournament has been a really great achievement.”
“I want to go out there, enjoy ourselves and play Queen's Park's style of football. But for me, most importantly, it's a final, you just want to win the cup for the club. I want to play well and show what we can do as a team, but most importantly get the job done.”

Heart of Midlothian’s Liam Walker: " I think we've worked really hard for it and we're buzzing for it, we just want to get the job done.
“It’s not really pressure, it's more excitement, we speak a lot about the Youth Cup Final and obviously, we're looking forward to a huge game and a big occasion.”
“We want to win, most importantly, that’s the main objective. But a lot of celebrations, goals as well, but win the game for sure.”
