The Scottish FA's Dumfries and Galloway Coach Development Day will be held at Palmerston Park, Dumfries on Sunday 3rd August.
It is anticipated that there will be a high demand for this event and interested coaches are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
The conference, running from 9.30am until 3pm, is aimed at coaches working at all levels of football and will be led by guest speakers Anna Signeul and Garry Hay. The latter will lead the delivery of practical coaching sessions and the former will deliver some information sessions to all attendees.
Afterwards, all attendees will receive FREE entry to the Scotland v Wales Women’s International Challenge Match at Palmerston Park (1pm kick off).
Clubs are asked to encourage as many of their coaches as possible to attend and are reminded that the conference counts towards an existing coach’s Continuous Coach Development. Coaches must attend at least one Scottish FA in-service event (such as this one) within 4 years to extend the validity of their current coaching qualification.
Importantly, the conference offers a great opportunity for coaches to learn from the two high calibre guest speakers who’ll lead the event.
Anna Signeul was appointed as Scotland Women's National Coach in 2005 and has since guided Scotland to their highest ever UEFA and FIFA rankings. Preceding that, Anna enjoyed a successful playing and coaching career at the top level in Sweden including 8 years as Head Coach of the Swedish Youth Programme.
Following a successful playing career which included over 300 first team appearances for Kilmarnock, Garry Hay joined the Scottish FA as Player and Coach Development Officer in the South West Region. Garry is a highly qualified coach and current ‘A’ Licence and Elite Youth ‘A’ Licence holder with vast experience working in both the pro-youth and grassroots game – where he currently heads up the School of Football programme in the South West Region.
