Biography
2010/11 was a massive season for the imposing central defender. After impressing in the Blackburn Rovers Academy and reserve sides, Grant made his English Premier League debut in a 1-0 win over Aston Villa in May 2010.
In November, the former Scotland under-19 captain was called-up to the under-21s, making his debut in a 3-1 friendly win over Northern Ireland.
Just three months later, in February 2011, he was included in Craig Levein’s squad for the inaugural Carling Nations Cup. He made his debut in the second half of the tournament, in a 3-1 win over Wales in May 2011.
His first international goal also came against Wales, when he headed the opener in a 2-1 World Cup 2014 qualifying defeat at Hampden in March 2013.
