Biography
Gordon McQueen, born on 26 June 1952 in Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire. Making his professional debut at St Mirren, McQueen moved to Leeds United in 1972, winning the title in 1973-74 and reaching the European Cup final the next season. His defensive performances saw him move to Manchester United in 1978, winning the 1983 FA Cup.
He earned 30 caps for Scotland, scoring on five occasions – including in a 2-1 victory over England in 1977 at Wembley.
