Biography
Gary McAllister was born in Motherwell on 25 December 1964. He began his playing career at his home town club of Motherwell, making his debut in May 1982. In August 1985, McAllister moved to Leicester where he stayed for five years before joining Leeds United in 1990. He went on to also sign for Coventry twice and enjoyed two seasons at Liverpool where he played a vital role in their cup treble winning season when they lifted the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup. McAllister made his debut for Scotland in 1990 in a friendly against East Germany. He scored his first goal later that year in a Euro 1992 qualifier against Switzerland. Over the course of a decade, he won 57 caps in total and scored five goals, representing Scotland at Euro 1992, and at Euro 1996 as captain.
