Biography
Ikechi was born in Glasgow to a Nigerian father and Romanian mother.
Raised in Scotland, the pacey winger began his career with Northampton Town before spells with Sevilla, Celta Vigo, Granada and Cadiz in Spain.
He joined Gianfranco Zola's Watford on-loan in July 2012, before signing a permanent deal at the start of season 2013/14.
Comfortable on either side of the park, Ikechi has mostly been used as a wing-back in Watford's 3-5-2 formation.
A series of impressive performances throughout 2013 caught the eye of Scotland national coach Gordon Strachan, who handed him his first call-up for the World Cup qualifying double-header against Belgium and Macedonia in September.
He made a substitute appearance to win his first cap against Belgium, before firing the imagination of the Tartan Army with a stunning performance, and goal, in his first start in the 2-1 win over Macedonia four days later.
