Biography
Scot built a reputation as a reliable midfield presence at Nottingham Forest where he made over 250 appearances, before joining Everton in 1999. He racked up a century of appearances for the Toffees under the guidance of fellow Scots Walter Smith and David Moyes. Scot then saw out his playing career with spells at Leicester City and New Zealand Knights.
During his international playing career, Scot made 26 appearances for Scotland and scored one goal. He was part of the squad for both the 1996 European Championships and 1998 World Cup but was consigned to the subs bench at both tournaments. He made his final appearance for Scotland in April 2003.
Scot returned to the international scene in 2014, when he was appointed Scotland Under-17s Head Coach, guiding his team to the Semi-Finals of the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. In September 2016 Scot was appointed as Head Coach of Scotland Under-21s.
