Scottish Gas Football Camps

Scottish Gas and the Scottish FA have teamed up to provide 120 week-long football camps during school holidays to allow children from all socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to access free football.

The football camp provision also tackles the issue of ‘holiday hunger’ as free lunch is provided to all attendees.

During the 2024 Easter Holidays, 42 camps engaged with over 1,500 children nationwide. Scottish Gas’ Positive Energy campaign was also recently launched at these camps, with help of former Scotland Captain, Charlie Mulgrew.

Participants were rewarded for embodying the Positive Energy traits – teamwork, communication, respect and fair play - with a string of amazing prizes which included tickets to watch Scottish Gas Scottish Cup fixtures.

This activity followed a national study by OnePoll, which revealed 9 in 10 adults view sport as a great way for kids to develop key skills – including communication, teamwork and respect. The study also revealed 82% of parents believe coaches have a vital influence in their child’s development.
