Adam Frizzell then had an effort saved by the goalkeeper as the Scots tried to get back into the match. England, however, doubled their lead early in the second half after pouncing on some loose defending before firing home through Elliot Embleton. Barnes then grabbed his second and England’s third almost 10 minutes from time with a low curling shot beyond Ruddy. Ryan Hardie almost pulled one back for Scotland after 72 minutes when he rose highest to get on the end of a Tony Ralston cross but his header was stopped by Ryan Schofield. The loss means Scotland will contest the third/fourth play-off against their Czech Republic counterparts on Saturday at 2pm (UK time) as they aim to finish this year's tournament on a high note.
