A staple of the Scottish football calendar, this weekend sees the 12 Premiership sides enter the competition, with holders Rangers beginning their trophy defence on Saturday evening against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, live on Viaplay.

The action gets under way earlier on Saturday, as Celtic host Greenock Morton at Celtic Park at 12:15pm on BBC One. Morton manager Dougie Imrie has previous against Celtic in cup competition, having scored the winner in 2013 as Morton knocked the Celtic Park side out of the League Cup and he will be hoping his team can repeat the feat a decade on.

Linlithgow Rose - leaders of the East of Scotland League Premier Division - are one of 24 sides in action on Saturday at 3pm, as they host Championship side Raith Rovers in a mouth-watering encounter.

Drumchapel United are the lowest ranked side remaining in the competition and they will be aiming to follow up their shock win over FC Edinburgh in the Third Round as they travel north to face Elgin City at Borough Briggs.

University of Stirling defeated Albion Rovers in the Third Round and they have been rewarded with a trip to Tannadice Park to take on Dundee United, while Arbroath face Motherwell for the first time in 23 years in another fascinating match up.

The Edinburgh derby between Hibernian and Hearts takes place at 2pm on Sunday at Easter Road, with that match broadcast live on Viaplay.

The round concludes on Monday evening as Darvel host Aberdeen at Recreation Park, with a 7:45pm kick off scheduled in front of the BBC Scotland cameras.

Video Assistant Referee (VAR)

VAR is in operation at Celtic v Morton, St Johnstone v Rangers and Hibernian v Heart of Midlothian.

In keeping with the competition regulations, VAR is used where the necessary equipment for the operation is already installed at the venue and the match is broadcast live on television.

For matches where the necessary equipment for the operation of VAR is already installed at the venue but the game is not televised, the use of the technology is at the discretion of the competing clubs.

Scottish Cup Fifth Round Draw

The draw for the Scottish Cup Fifth Round will take place on Sunday, 22 January at 6pm, live from Hampden Park.

Former Scotland midfielder Shaun Maloney will conduct the draw, which will be broadcast live across the Scottish Cup social channels.
